James Kapri Powell Born and raised in Roxbury, Mass, James Powell known to the streets as Kapri who began his journey in the music industry through the lessons of music at an early age he began to sing in the church choir at Bethlehem Healing Temple thats when he found his love for music and wanted to follow the path of New Edition, The Boys, Guy, and Christopher Williams. Who is Kapri? At the age of 13 Kapri began to listen to hip-hop and rhyming with different underground crews in school as well the streets. It was around the age of 15 when he entered into Gang Peace and began to learn the skills of DJ Cutter; in which Kapri began doing Promotions for Reel Sound. In the midst of deciding whether or not he wanted to stay in the streets as a rapper or promoter he began his journey to various different states trying to find a home that would listen to his sound as well as give him a chance to show his loyalty in the Promotional game. Florida, Georgia, Texas, Missouri, Chicago are some of the states Kapri traveled to accomplish his goals in this entertainment industry, as usual Kapri found the support and likes of many but it wasnt like Boston. Kapri then decided to travel to Pennsylvania and settle down and attempt to startup a promo company working with a few of Pittsburgh P.A's local talent, as well as working at various clubs in the downtown Pittsburgh area. He began a partnership with a friend named Dual, and they both began to strive for higher careers in the industry. This is when he formed G.H.O.S.T. GEES HAVEN OUR STUFF TIGHT. My Skills Going from club to club, state to state, city to city, coast to coast he got tired and moved back to Boston in 2005 and began working with DJ Cutter at FILTHY NORTH PRODUCTIONS as a manager/promoter. Once he made his return back to the states "Kapri" than became doing promotions for the artist signed to Filthy North Records, as well as promoting the show casings at Sammie's Patio in Revere, Mass. Where a few local artists performed, such as Law Towns own Krumb Snatcha, The Wolves, Boston's Man Terror, 83 Legend, Amor, St.Louis's own H-Snow just to name a few of the individuals that were promoted during this showcasing. In the beginning of 2006 Kapri engaged in a conversation with Supreme without knowing he was from Supreme Entertainment an Independent Managing A&R Company that has ties in the Entertainment Industry. Supreme noticed that Kapri has a gift not only on the mic, but in the streets, media, and definitely in promotions. So an opportunity was given to Kapri to start his own street team under Supreme Entertainment, and Kapri named it Team Supreme he was also given the position within Supreme Entertainment as A&R. As of he has currently fell back and chose to follow where his happyness lies. So he's currently a freelance promoter, singer, songwriter, artist, as well as d.j.

Now currently he's working with the M.I.C. and Boston's number #1 Local T.V. show called 617Live t.v. as Promotional Mananger a.k.a "Prince of Promo." Hard working and energetic, you can find hime just about any where, places like 360 Ultra Lounge, Venue, Packy's, Slades, and maybe downtown handing out fliers, or just in the area building with the hood and discussing hood politics, and current event's present in the 617.
